1. Historic Preservation
Originally built in 1911, the Orenaug Park Fire Tower has long served as a recognizable landmark overlooking the Pomperaug River Valley. Our work focused on restoring the structure while respecting its historic character and long-standing importance to the Woodbury community.

2. Surface Preparation & Sandblasting
Years of exposure had caused rust, weathering, and surface deterioration on the steel tower. We carefully sandblasted the structure to remove corrosion, old coatings, and contaminants, creating a clean surface ready for long-term protection.

3. Structural Steel Repairs
During restoration, key structural areas were evaluated and repaired to improve stability and extend the life of the 80-foot steel tower. Necessary reinforcements and corrections were completed while maintaining the integrity of the original framework.
4. Protective Repainting
After preparation and repairs, the tower received a durable industrial coating system designed to withstand harsh New England weather conditions. The fresh finish helps protect the steel from moisture, corrosion, and future wear.

5. Challenging Site Conditions
Located atop a 540-foot hill within Orenaug Park, the project required careful planning, material transport, and coordination in a wooded environment. Working on an elevated steel structure also demanded strict safety procedures throughout every phase.

6. Community Landmark Restored
Today, the restored Orenaug Park Fire Tower continues to welcome hikers and visitors with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. We are proud to have helped preserve a meaningful piece of Woodbury history for future generations.
