|
This home was severely damaged during a historic storm that impacted the Candlewood Shores neighborhood, which included four tornadoes and a powerful macroburst. Several homes in the area were destroyed beyond repair, and the damage was so extensive that the National Guard was deployed to assist with recovery efforts. Despite the condition of the home, our team was able to fully restore and improve it.

This home in the Candlewood Shores community was heavily impacted by a historic storm that swept through the area, producing multiple tornadoes and a powerful macroburst. Numerous trees fell throughout the neighborhood, causing widespread destruction and leaving several homes beyond repair. Due to the scale of damage, the National Guard was deployed to assist with recovery efforts.
Although this home sustained significant exterior and structural damage, a full assessment confirmed it could be repaired and restored rather than demolished.
Our first priority was stabilizing and repairing storm-related damage to ensure the home was safe and weather-tight. This included addressing compromised framing, repairing affected areas of the structure, and restoring the building envelope to protect against future storms.
All repairs were completed to meet current building standards while preserving the integrity of the existing home.
As part of the restoration, we resided the entire home with double 4" vinyl siding, significantly improving durability, weather resistance, and overall curb appeal. The siding upgrade created a cohesive, refreshed exterior while providing long-term protection.
We also removed and replaced the asphalt roof, ensuring proper underlayment, flashing, and installation for reliable performance. In addition, the chimney was reflashed with copper, providing superior water protection and a clean, long-lasting finish.
The storm caused extensive damage to the home’s large rear deck. We fully rebuilt the deck, restoring both safety and functionality while creating a strong outdoor space for the homeowners to enjoy.
This work was carefully integrated with the updated exterior finishes to ensure a seamless transition between the home and outdoor living areas.
Inside the home, a damaged family room was completely stripped down to the studs. We added new supporting framing, reinsulated both the walls and ceiling, and rebuilt the space with long-term comfort and efficiency in mind.
The room’s electrical and HVAC systems were reworked, ensuring proper airflow, updated wiring, and improved performance. Once systems were complete, the space was finished with new drywall and paint.
The completed family room is now a warm, comfortable, and functional space that feels brand new while blending naturally with the rest of the home. Combined with the exterior upgrades, roofing, siding, deck reconstruction, and copper chimney flashing, the project resulted in a fully restored home that is stronger, safer, and more resilient than before the storm.
This project highlights our ability to manage severe storm damage restoration, complex structural repairs, and full-scale exterior and interior renovations from start to finish.
