Beginnings

Casali Companies was built on resilience, risk, and an unwavering belief in doing things the right way.
Our story begins with our founder, Nando Casali, who immigrated to the United States from Sinigaglia, Italy in 1956 at just 13 years old. Arriving with little more than determination and a strong work ethic, he faced immediate hardship. At only 14, Nando lost his father and was raised by a single mother who worked multiple labor-intensive jobs to support her family while raising him and his younger sister.
With English as a second language and financial stability out of reach, Nando learned early what it meant to work for opportunity. By age 16, he left school to help provide for his family, beginning his career maintaining grounds at a local golf course. He later worked in manufacturing before finding his calling in the building trades.
Nando went on to spend more than seven years as a union mason, where he mastered his craft and distinguished himself through precision, discipline, and pride in workmanship. Yet despite his success, he felt capable of more — driven by a vision to build something lasting for his growing family.
After the birth of his first son, Jim Nando Casali, Sr., in 1972, Nando made a defining decision. Guided by the encouragement of his mother, he took a substantial risk: investing his life savings into heavy equipment and striking out on his own. One year later, in 1973, Casali Companies was established.
What began as a leap of faith became the foundation of a family-owned company rooted in integrity, craftsmanship, and accountability — values that continue to guide everything we do today.
