Casali Companies began with Nando Casali — a man whose life was shaped by resilience, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in hard work.
Nando immigrated to the United States from Senigallia, Italy in 1956 at just 13 years old. He arrived with little more than determination, and within a year, his life changed dramatically. At only 14, he lost his father and was raised by a single mother who worked multiple labor-intensive jobs to support him and his younger sister.
With English as a second language and financial stability far from guaranteed, Nando learned early what it meant to work for opportunity. By age 16, he left school to help provide for his family, beginning his career maintaining grounds at a local golf course. He later worked in manufacturing before finding his calling in the building trades.
Nando spent more than seven years as a union mason, where he developed the precision, discipline, and pride in workmanship that would later define Casali Companies. But even with steady work and hard-earned skill, he believed he was capable of building something greater — something that could last for his family.
After the birth of his first son, Jim Nando Casali, Sr., in 1972, Nando made a defining decision. Encouraged by his mother and driven by a vision for the future, he invested his life savings into heavy equipment and struck out on his own.
One year later, in 1973, Casali Companies was established.
What started as a leap of faith became the foundation of a family-owned company built on integrity, craftsmanship, accountability, and pride — values that continue to guide every project we take on today.
