Building into the Landscape
The project began with extensive site preparation, including ledge removal, underground utility installation, and excavation to properly seat the structure into the sloped terrain. Careful planning and execution ensured a stable foundation while preserving the surrounding landscape and existing site features. This resulted in a refined, functional outbuilding that complements the main residence while standing on its own architecturally.
Structure Designed for Capacity and Flexibility
The garage was framed to accommodate six full-size vehicles below, with a pool house above designed for future flexibility. Structural integrity was a top priority, allowing for open spans, generous ceiling heights, and long-term durability—ensuring the building performs as well as it functions.
A Timeless Cedar Exterior
The exterior showcases vertical cedar tongue-and-groove siding paired with cedar trim and a cedar roof, creating a timeless New England aesthetic. A custom gable timber truss bracket adds architectural character, while copper flashing was integrated throughout to ensure longevity and weather resistance.
Classic Details, Modern Performance
Andersen 400 Series windows were installed to provide energy efficiency and natural light, complementing the building’s traditional proportions. A custom cupola crowns the roofline, adding both visual interest and classic detailing consistent with the home’s overall design language.
Hidden Infrastructure, Thoughtfully Executed
Significant infrastructure work was completed to support the structure, including underground electrical service and an underground propane line for heating. These systems were carefully coordinated to remain concealed while providing reliable, year-round functionality.
Form, Function, and Enduring Craftsmanship
The completed garage and pool house deliver both form and function—offering ample storage, architectural beauty, and seamless integration with the surrounding property. Built to stand the test of time, this project reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and precision execution.
